Section 7 – Operational Shocks and Crash Safety:

The Operational Shock section determines if equipment continues to operate and function as intended after exposure to shocks experienced during normal operations. These operations include take off, landings, taxiing, wind gusts, and turbulence.

 The Crash Safety section determines if installed certain equipment will not come loose, detach, or separate from its mounting location, which may create a hazard to equipment and personnel.

Operational Shock

Category A – Standard operational shocks.

Category B – Standard operational shock and crash safety.

Category D – Low frequency operational shock.

Category E – Low-frequency operational shock and low frequency crash safety.
