
Section 6 – Humdity:
This section establishes the test requirements and procedures to determine the ability of equipment to withstand humidity and condensation, under natural or induced conditions.
Equipment Categories
Category A – Standard Humidity Environment
Intended for equipment that is installed in civil aircraft, non-civil transport aircraft and other associated aircraft, within environmentally controlled compartments of aircraft where severe humidity environments are encountered under normal circumstances.
Category B – Severe Humidity Environment
Applies to equipment that is installed in zones not environmentally controlled where the intended operational conditions required may be subject to more severe atmospheric humidity environments, and for extended periods of time, over what may be referenced under the standard humidity environment.
Category C – External Humidity Environment
Applies to equipment that is installed and operated in locations or under conditions where the equipment may be in direct contact with outside air for extended periods of time, over the requirements under the standard humidity environment.
