New EMC requirements found in the EU Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, per EN 60601-1-2 became mandatory November 4, 2004. There is no grandfather clause. Background Information
European Standards for Medical Equipment have been updated. Many new EMC tests have been added, as well as changes made to the old requirements. Fifty specific product standards now exist. D.L.S. offers manufacturers an explanation of the new requirements and an evaluation of their product for compliance.
